Thank You For Another Sunday
An original gospel song, words by Henry Q Allen. Here is the chord chart, free, with the numbers under every chord. The chorus walks straight up the scale, so it is a good song for a beginner to learn by ear.
Both print clearly in black and white. No sign-up needed.
The move to learn
Ebmaj7 Fm7 Gm7 Abmaj7
The chorus climbs 1, 2, 3, 4. Each chord is the next note of the scale with a chord built on it. Play the scale in your left hand, keep one shape in your right, and move it up a step each time.
The bridge walks the same chords back down. In C the climb is C, Dm, Em, F.
The verse has a second move worth hearing. G7 goes to Cm7: the 3 chord made major, pulling to the 6. Verse 2 also slips in a 2-5-1 to the 4, Bbm7, Eb7, Abmaj7.

Who wrote this. I started learning piano at thirty-five, because my pastor asked me to become the church musician. I play by ear, every Sunday at my church in St. Louis since March 2007. I write these songs, and then I chart them the way I would want to learn them.
