I Am Changed
An original gospel song, words by Henry Q Allen. Here is the chord chart, free, with the numbers under every chord. Bar 2 of the chorus has a move that points straight at the minor chord, and once you hear it you will hear it everywhere.
Both print clearly in black and white. No sign-up needed.
The move to learn
Em7b5 A7 Dm
Bar 2 of the chorus is the 7, the 3 and the 6. It is a 2-5-1 that lands on the 6, the sad home chord, instead of the 1. When you hear the A7, your ear already knows Dm is coming.
It comes back at "brand-new story." In C the same move is Bm7b5, E7, Am.
The song ends on Bb, then Bb minor, then F: the 4, the minor 4, then home. That is the old church "Amen" sound. The verse also has the 2-5-1 to the 4, Cm7, F7, Bbmaj7.

Who wrote this. I started learning piano at thirty-five, because my pastor asked me to become the church musician. I play by ear, every Sunday at my church in St. Louis since March 2007. I write these songs, and then I chart them the way I would want to learn them.
